Edward E. “Teddy” Grimes, age 65, loving husband of Jacquelyn (Garvey) Grimes, of Peabody died, Friday, August 24, 2012 at North Shore Medical Center, Salem.
Born in Fayetteville, NC the son of the late Edward and Mary (Connor) Grimes, he was raised and educated in Salem schools. For many years he was employed in construction, participating in many projects on the North Shore as a union member of Local 14.
The center of his life was truly focused on his family and grandchildren. Over the years he created many incredible memories and stories of fishing and camping for those who joined in his adventures.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Grimes is survived by four children and six grandchildren, Edward Grimes and his fiancé Ariana Smales of Swampscott, Bridgit McKeough and David Gage, parents of Danica, of Middleton, Jon-Paul and Michele Grimes and their son Nathan of Marblehead, and Anthony and Jennifer Grimes and their children Corey and Ashley of Salem.
He was predeceased by a daughter Tammy Grimes, the mother of Adam and Ember Smith who now reside in Peabody.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday evening, August 29, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by funeral services at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, his family request memorial contributions be made to the American Liver Foundation, 88 Winchester St, Newton, MA 02461, since he was concerned about his daughter Bridget’s future need for a liver transplant.
